Orapuh exists to give under-served populations swift access to astute information, education, and research in the under-served biases of the oral and public health disciplines.

The name of the platform derives from the niche of the Organization. Orapuh stands for the portmanteau, Oral and Public Health (‘Ora’ from ‘oral’, ‘pu’ from ‘public’, and ‘h’ from ‘health’).

What We Do

The Orapuh Team works to improve access to health information, catalyse health career skills, strengthen oral and public health education and research, and promote favourable health outcomes in resource-limited contexts.

Team members operate from Universities, Colleges, hospitals, and research institutions in Africa, Europe, North America, and Asia,
and are associated with at least one of  our affiliated entities.

How We Do It

We promote astute scholarship, proficiency, and open science in the field of oral and public health, with a particular focus on addressing the underserved biases in resource-limited contexts.

We support the development of oral and public health manpower, services, and consumer products in resource-limited contexts by catalyzing aggravated access to information, research, learning, and innovation in the under-served disciplines of oral (dental) and public health.

Our approach

  1. Digital-First: As a digital-only organization, we leverage digital platforms and technologies to reach a global audience, breaking down barriers to access and delivering timely and relevant information, education, and research.
  2. Community-Centered: We prioritize the needs and perspectives of under-served populations, engaging with communities directly to understand their unique challenges and co-create solutions that are tailored to their needs.
  3. Evidence-Based: Our work is grounded in scientific evidence and best practices, ensuring that the information, education, and research we provide are accurate, reliable, and up-to-date.
  4. Holistic Health: We recognize the interconnectedness of oral health with overall health and well-being, taking a holistic approach to address the social, economic, and environmental determinants of health disparities.
  5. Continuous Learning: We are committed to continuous learning and improvement, staying abreast of emerging trends, research findings, and technological advancements to enhance the impact and effectiveness of our initiatives.
