The purpose of this policy is to provide guidelines for the responsible and ethical use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools by members of Orapuh. While AI can enhance creativity and productivity, it must be used ethically and in alignment with Orapuh’s values and objectives.
This policy applies to all members of Orapuh, including employees, volunteers, interns, contractors, and collaborators, who have access to generative AI tools for the purpose of enriching their work.
Use of AI for Work Enrichment:
- Members of Orapuh are encouraged to explore and utilise generative AI tools to enhance their work, including content creation, data analysis, and problem-solving, with the goal of improving efficiency and productivity.
- When using AI for work-related tasks, members must ensure that the output is accurate, relevant, and aligned with Orapuh’s standards and objectives.
- Any content generated using AI tools should be clearly identified as such when shared internally or externally to maintain transparency and integrity.
Ethical Considerations:
- Members must adhere to ethical principles when using generative AI tools, including respect for intellectual property rights, privacy considerations, and avoidance of biased or discriminatory outputs.
- Use of AI tools to deceive or mislead stakeholders, manipulate data, or engage in unethical practices is strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action.
Prohibited Use in Students’ Seminars and Assignments:
- Generative AI tools are strictly prohibited from being used by students in seminars, assignments, or other academic activities, as it may undermine the learning process and academic integrity.
- Faculty and staff are responsible for ensuring that students are not using AI tools to generate content for academic submissions and for enforcing this policy to maintain the integrity of Orapuh’s educational programmes.
Training and Education:
- Orapuh will provide training and resources to members on the responsible use of generative AI tools, including best practices, ethical considerations, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Regular updates and workshops will be offered to keep members informed about advancements in AI technology and evolving ethical standards.
Policy Compliance:
- Failure to comply with this policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of membership or contract.
- Members are expected to familiarise themselves with this policy and seek clarification from Orapuh’s leadership or designated representatives as needed.
Policy Review and Updates:
- This Generative AI Policy will be reviewed annually and updated as needed to reflect changes in technology, regulations, or organisational needs.
- Any updates or revisions to this policy will be communicated to members in a timely manner
This Generative AI Policy has been reviewed and approved by Orapuh’s Oversight and Academic Board (OAB) and is effective immediately.
