1. Purpose

The Orapuh Postdoctoral Fellowship elevates research, teaching, and scholarly leadership in oral and public health. It empowers postdoctoral candidates to pursue independent, impactful research and gain recognition within the Orapuh College of Scholars (OCS).

2. Fellowship Vision

This programme fosters autonomous, accountable, and self-driven scholars who contribute rigorously to global oral and public health knowledge, while advancing professional growth and academic visibility.

3. Eligibility

To be eligible, an applicant must:

  • Hold a PhD or equivalent degree in oral or public health or related fields.

  • Be within five years post-PhD (or post viva voce).

  • Demonstrate publication quality from doctoral research.

  • Have strong English communication and independent research skills.

4. Application Process

Applicants must submit:

  • Cover letter and CV

  • Proof of degree

  • At least one letter of recommendation

  • Professional work sample

  • Research proposal in a priority area
    Applications are accepted year-round and should be sent via the official Orapuh submission channels.

5. Fellowship Responsibilities

Postdoctoral Fellows are independent researchers and must:

  • Conduct and publish research in peer-reviewed journals.

  • Present findings at scholarly events.

  • Teach and lead academic webinars.

  • Support Orapuh’s research mission and institutional events.

  • Engage proactively with the Chief Fellow and OCS frameworks.

6. Autonomy and Accountability

Postdocs are granted full operational autonomy over their research planning and execution. Fellows must:

  • Lead and execute all fellowship activities independently, consistent with OCS standards.

  • Liaise regularly with the Chief Fellow and the Registry Unit regarding progress and reporting.

  • Publish and publicise their work through approved channels.
    This approach aligns with OCS’s philosophy of self-driven excellence and accountability.

7. Reporting and Evaluation

Fellows must submit:

  • Monthly progress reports to the Chief Fellow.

  • A final comprehensive research report at the end of the programme.
    The Registry Unit, in collaboration with the Chief Fellow, evaluates performance based on timeliness, quality, and contribution to Orapuh scholarship.

8. Duration and Funding

The fellowship typically runs for one year and is conducted remotely. No stipends are provided; Fellows self-fund research and associated activities, though subsidised publishing support may be available.

9. Code of Conduct

Fellows must uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, and integrity in research and communication. Misconduct may lead to disciplinary action or termination of the fellowship.

10. Certification and Recognition

Upon successful completion, Fellows receive a certificate and lifelong membership in the OCS. They may also be eligible to mentor future candidates and contribute to broader Orapuh academic initiatives.

11. Review and Updates

This policy will be reviewed biennially to ensure it remains relevant and effective.
