Social media policy

The purpose of this social media policy is to establish guidelines and expectations for employees, volunteers, and interns of Orapuh when engaging in social media activities, both personally and on behalf of the organisation. Social media can be a powerful tool for communication and brand promotion, but it also carries risks that must be managed effectively.

This policy applies to all employees, volunteers, and interns of Orapuh and extends to their personal and professional use of social media platforms, whether representing the organisation or expressing personal opinions.

Professional Use:

  1. Employees authorised to represent Orapuh on social media platforms must adhere to the organisation’s brand guidelines, tone of voice, and messaging standards.
  2. All official Orapuh social media accounts must be managed by designated employees or teams, and access to these accounts must be restricted to authorised personnel.
  3. Any content shared on official Orapuh social media accounts must be accurate, relevant, and respectful, and must comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  4. Employees must obtain approval from the appropriate quarters before posting content on official Orapuh social media channels.
  5. Engaging with followers and responding to comments or messages on official Orapuh social media accounts should be done promptly and professionally.

Personal Use:

  1. When engaging in personal social media activities, employees should be mindful of their association with Orapuh and avoid posting content that could harm the organisation’s reputation or interests.
  2. Employees, volunteers, and interns are prohibited from disclosing confidential or proprietary information about Orapuh, its clients, or its employees/other volunteers and interns on personal social media accounts.
  3. Personal social media activities should not interfere with employees’ work responsibilities or productivity. Usage of personal social media during work hours should be kept to a minimum.
  4. Employees, volunteers, and interns should use discretion and exercise good judgment when expressing personal opinions on social media, particularly on topics related to Orapuh, its industry, or current events that may impact the organisation.

Confidentiality and Privacy:

  1. Employees, volunteers, and interns must respect the confidentiality of information shared on social media platforms, whether it pertains to Orapuh or individuals associated with the organisation.
  2. Sharing sensitive or confidential information about Orapuh, its clients, or its employees on social media is strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or engagement.

Consequences of Violation:

  1. Violations of this social media policy may result in disciplinary action, including written warnings, suspension, or termination of employment or engagement, depending on the severity of the offense and its impact on the organisation.
  2. Orapuh reserves the right to monitor employees’ social media activities to ensure compliance with this policy and protect the organisation’s interests.
