1. Retake Eligibility Learners who miss or fail a summative assessment are eligible for a retake under the following conditions:
    • The learner must have attempted all formative assessments during the course.
    • The learner must formally request the retake by the stipulated deadline after receiving a failing grade or after missing the assessment due to unavoidable circumstances.
  2. Retake Fees Each missed or failed summative assessment incurs $12 retake fee.

To avoid this fee, learners should ensure they submit all assignments on time and do not fail their summative assessments.

  3. Retake Procedure
    • Learners must notify the school administration in writing within five (5) working days of receiving their final grade or after missing the assessment.
    • Upon approval, the learner must pay the applicable retake fee before the new assessment date is scheduled.
    • The retake must be completed within a specified period determined by the course instructor and the academic calendar.
  4. Retake Limitations
    • Learners are allowed a maximum of two (2) retake attempts per course.
    • If a learner fails the retake after two attempts, they must re-enrol in the course and meet all course requirements again.
  5. Impact on Grades
    • The retake score will replace the original summative assessment score.
    • The highest achievable grade on a retake is a Merit (60%), regardless of the actual score attained in the retake assessment.
  6. Extenuating Circumstances
    • Learners with valid, documented extenuating circumstances (e.g., medical emergencies) may be exempted from the retake fee. All such cases will be reviewed on an individual basis by the school administration.
  7. Appeals Learners who wish to appeal their retake results or the decision regarding their eligibility must follow the school’s official appeals process within seven (7) days of receiving their retake result.
