This policy outlines how Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tools may be used ethically and responsibly in the creation, submission, review, and publication of content in Orapuh Journal (Orap J).
1. Use of GenAI by Authors
-
Authors must not list GenAI tools as authors of any submitted work.
-
Authors may use GenAI tools (e.g., for language editing or idea development) only to support, not replace, human scholarly effort.
-
If GenAI is used in preparing a manuscript (e.g., for drafting, summarising, editing, or coding), this must be clearly disclosed in the methods, acknowledgements, or relevant section of the article.
-
Authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, ethical compliance, and integrity of all content, including that produced or assisted by GenAI tools.
2. Use of GenAI by Editors and Reviewers
-
Editors and peer reviewers must not use GenAI tools to generate or summarise confidential content (e.g., manuscript text, reviewer comments) without explicit permission.
-
GenAI must not be used to evaluate or make editorial decisions. All such decisions must be made by qualified humans.
-
Editors and reviewers are encouraged to remain vigilant to potential misuse of GenAI (e.g., fabricated data, unethical text generation) and report concerns promptly.
3. Principles of Responsible AI Use
In alignment with RELX’s principles, Orap J commits to:
-
Accountability: All published content must have clear, human accountability.
-
Transparency: Use of AI must be openly declared and responsibly managed.
-
Fairness: AI must not perpetuate bias or harm scientific integrity.
-
Privacy and Data Protection: AI use must respect confidentiality and data protection laws.
-
Sustainability and Safety: AI must be used in ways that protect long-term scholarly trust and publication quality.
4. Monitoring and Compliance
-
Orap J reserves the right to request clarifications or retractions where GenAI has been improperly used.
-
Submissions suspected of containing unethical or undisclosed AI-generated content may be rejected or investigated in line with our editorial and ethical policies.
