Several studies have highlighted the importance of environmental and socio-economic factors in malaria transmission, but few in Kisangani.</p> <p><strong>Purpose</strong></p> <p>This study aims to identify the socio-economic and environmental factors that influence malaria transmission in urban Kisangani. This identification will allow for the proposal of adapted prevention strategies.</p> <p><strong>Methods</strong></p> <p>This will be an analytical cross-sectional study that will take place from December 1, 2023, to May 15, 2024. The statistical units within households will consist of household heads, pregnant women, and children aged 0 to 5 years. Using Schwartz's formula (z²<em>p</em>q)/d2) with an anticipated non-response rate of 5%, a sample of 403 households will be selected randomly and systematically. These will be guided interviews using a structured survey questionnaire on KoboCollect. Surveyors will administer these questionnaires and collect blood samples to assess malaria parasitemia. Data will be analyzed with STATA 13 software.
