1. Objective

The OCS Plus Initiative is a distinguished mentorship and engagement circle within Orapuh College of Scholars (OCS), reserved for members who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to the College’s mission and activities. The Initiative offers a sustained mentorship and growth environment, fostering academic, professional, and personal development. Participants are encouraged to take on leadership roles, driving impactful work in oral and public health.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all members selected to join the OCS Plus Initiative, including mentors, mentees, and administrators involved in the Initiative.

3. Structure of the Initiative

The OCS Plus Initiative is a perpetual mentorship and engagement circle without a fixed duration. Members remain a part of this elite circle as long as they maintain active involvement and uphold the values of the College. The Initiative includes:

  • Ongoing Mentorship: Each member is assigned a dedicated mentor, led by the Lead Mentor who oversees the Initiative’s objectives and direction.
  • Exclusive Development Opportunities: Regular advanced workshops, specialized training sessions, and knowledge-sharing circles.
  • Project and Leadership Roles: Members take on impactful projects and leadership positions within the College and in their respective fields.
  • Priority Access to Resources: Exclusive access to OCS resources, networking events, and professional development opportunities.

4. Eligibility and Membership Criteria

To be eligible for the OCS Plus Initiative, members must:

  • Be active members of OCS, consistently involved in College activities.
  • Show strong commitment to the College’s mission and a demonstrated potential for leadership.
  • Exhibit a desire for personal, academic, and professional growth.

5. Selection and Induction Process

  • Nomination: Members can either apply for consideration or be nominated by OCS mentors and administrators.
  • Review: The OCS Leadership Team, in consultation with the Lead Mentor, reviews nominations and selects candidates based on their contributions, values, and potential.
  • Induction: Selected members are formally inducted into the OCS Plus Initiative, joining a community of dedicated and influential scholars.

6. Roles and Responsibilities

Lead Mentor

  • Oversees the OCS Plus Initiative, providing strategic direction and ensuring alignment with OCS values.
  • Assigns mentors to members and monitors the mentoring relationships.
  • Organizes events, workshops, and other exclusive activities for members.
  • Provides guidance and support to both mentors and mentees as needed.

Mentors

  • Offer personalized guidance, feedback, and support to mentees.
  • Assist mentees in setting and pursuing academic and professional goals.
  • Conduct regular sessions and provide continuous encouragement.
  • Submit periodic progress updates to the Lead Mentor.

Members

  • Engage actively in mentoring sessions, events, and activities.
  • Complete assigned tasks, projects, and training.
  • Maintain consistent, professional communication with mentors and the Lead Mentor.
  • Uphold the values and goals of the OCS Plus Initiative.

7. Engagement and Evaluation

  • Continuous Engagement: Members are expected to remain actively involved in the Initiative and contribute positively to its activities and projects.
  • Feedback Mechanism: Regular feedback sessions with the Lead Mentor allow for realignment, if needed, and ensure members receive adequate support.
  • Progress Reports: Mentors will provide progress updates to track members’ development and involvement.

8. Confidentiality and Code of Conduct

  • Confidentiality: All interactions within the Initiative are confidential, fostering a trusting environment for open dialogue.
  • Code of Conduct: Members are expected to adhere to the OCS Code of Conduct, showing professionalism, integrity, and respect for fellow members and mentors.

9. Termination of Membership

  • Voluntary Withdrawal: Members may voluntarily leave the Initiative with prior notification to the Lead Mentor.
  • Involuntary Termination: Membership may be revoked if a member fails to meet engagement standards or violates OCS policies.

10. Amendments to the Policy

  • Orapuh College of Scholars reserves the right to amend this policy as needed. Any changes will be communicated to members, and the revised policy will be accessible to all.
